Just a reminder that the Amazing Race Canada starts tomorrow, Tuesday, 6/28.

You can watch episodes online one day later at
http://theamazingracecanada.ctv.ca/.

If you're Internet provider is not in Canada, don't despair. You can use a
free PPTP VPN service (not a proxy server) for Canada, details at
www.freecanadavpn.com.

Quick summary:
Use your favorite (favourite) O/S to create a new PPTP (Point-to-Point
Tunneling Protocol) VPN (Virtual Private Connection) connection.
Hostname: freecanadavpn.com
User name: free
Password (as of today): 2474 (Check box to save password. I'm sure it
changes periodically.)
Type of VPN: Automatic (which is the default on many systems)

Setting up a VPN connection is no more difficult than setting up a new WiFi
connection.

Just remember to disconnect from the VPN when done watching, because many
other websites not in Canada won't work if you remain configured to be
coming from Canada.

Glancing at the tv listings, CTV will replay the episodes on Saturday and
Sunday, I wasn't paying attention to times. I assume this will continue
for the full Race, but perhaps not. In the past it's certainly been easy
to catch an episode on tv if it was missed.

Amazing the lack of comments on this one.

Really now, taking the 4-hour penalty because the task looked like it
would take a long time???

(And amazingly, not getting eliminated for doing so!)

To be fair, they've only had a few Canadian races to watch, so the
contestants aren't as savvy as the US ones.

No, I'm not serious, they should have been watching the US show.

IN the first episode, with the language challenge, the host said they were
to report to a "first nations language expert". Now maybe she is, but
likely she is simply one of those who can speak her language, a lot of the
languages are close to extinct. But I don't get why the show didn't
actually define who she was, instead a generic "first nation language
expert" as if there is only one first nation's language.

The same thing happened last year. They were in the desert, there was
some ceremony, but I'm certain it was described as a "first nations
ceremony" rather than something else. I was disappointed because by
location, they were likely Okanagan, technically family, though distant.
