SO it appears we will be celebrating the Fourth of July here in Canada,
this year's "Amazing Race Canada" starts on Tuesday July 4th, though I
think that's more because they chose Tuesday rather than to celebrate
Independence Day. So there will be something to watch on tv this summer
starging a week from today.
Here's hoping they visit actual people along the way, instead of fairly
generic "aboriginals". I think it was two summers ago they visited a
centre that was probably Syilx (ie Okanagan) but they were not specific.
And I guess it was last year, with the father and daughter native team,
they had to do something judged by an "expert in aboriginal language"
which could mean anything, but I think they really meant someone who spoke
the specific language.
The blurb I saw made it sound like this year they'll stay in Canada, but
maybe the blurb is wrong. On the other hand, it being the 150th (it
really isn't at least not till Manitoba came into COnfederation), maybe
they decided to spend all the time in Canada.
